Stillman Property Management recognized for "Green Business Leadership"

June 15, 2011— Stillman Property Management was recognized for "green business leadership" through The Westchester Green Business Challenge (WGBC). Developed by Westchester County in partnership with The Business Council of Westchester, the WGBC acknowledged Westchester businesses for achievements in greening their operations through various strategies that address energy use, transportation, land use, water resources, waste, recycling and green procurement, and outreach.

Companies of all sizes and industries across Westchester County are taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint by greening internal operations, rethinking the way they use energy, and keeping the environment in mind on an ongoing basis. The Green Business Challenge offered businesses the opportunity to measure their level of green by utilizing the interactive scorecard as resource to help their business save money and reduce pollution.

Businesses who registered for the challenge were sent the interactive Green Business Challenge Scorecard, which outlined up to 82 actions businesses could take to make business “greener.”

Drawing more than 100 attendees, the breakfast event (“Mastering the Green Business Challenge: Working Toward Your Goals”) highlighted the WGBC’s plans for the year ahead and challenged attendees to identify and implement at least three green goals over the next six months. The event was sponsored by Con Edison.

Marsha Gordon, president and CEO of The Business Council of Westchester, welcomed attendees and provided a recap of the green business program’s accomplishments to date.
